First of all, THANKS, to Baldric and others for the great guides on getting backups of DVD created.
I have had absolutely no trouble getting DVD5 backups made. However, I've run into a snag with the DVD9. Everything seems to be fine until I use CopyToDVD to burn the finished IFO.
My burner (HP 100j) whirs along happily for about 20 minutes. Then, CopyToDVD changes from a progress bar to a "finalizing" bar. Then, the DVD pops out and an error log pops up on the monitor. It contains two messages - both are write errors - one is a specific zone. Needless to say, the disc plays nothing. Luckily, I am using DVD+RW.
But, I have no idea what causes the problem. I am going to try a different disc since I think that it most likely. If it is not the problem....Help!
Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, did you fix it? If so, how?
I am using the trial version. I am hesistant to buy the program.
Does anyone have any suggestions for programs to purchase to burn the IFO you make with DVD Shrink?
THANKS!
Blu

I think I solved the problem. I have been able to burn now - in 20 minutes no less (originally the program said 1 hour). I simply re-ripped the disc, and it burned properly. I also used a new disc to burn to - so it could have been a media problem as well. I have been able to burn two more backups of DVD-9 without trouble. The only hiccup I've had since fixing the first problem seems to be faulty media.
