  1. Any Vcd that I burn on my Sony burner will no longer play right in my DVD player. The picture will have flashes of color spots, bars will show up containing portions of other pictures, its stops, part of the screen will go left and the other part will go right causing people to be seperated from thier legs, and the sound has loud pops and static in it. I know it is the burner cause I can take it out and burn the same files on another burner with no problems.
I have been burning Vcds everyday for a month without problems before. The burner is only 4 months old. The strange thing is that the burner can still burn data and music cds. How is this possible???

  2. At what speed do you burn your VCDs? VCDs don't contain much error correcting information so if you burn them at high speed and some bits get flipped the picture may become distorted since the player can't figure out how to correct it. It may also be a case of media. Some media allow writing at higher speeds than others.
Try burning your VCDs at 2X or 4X and see if this works better.
