  1. Hey everyone -

I just set up my new Dell 8250 with my 64 MB ATI All in Wonder 9000 Pro and I'm running into a few slight problems.

For one, I can't seem to set my audio up in stero. It won't let me select it, and all I have is mono. Any ideas? Also, on some of the channels, the audio is real scratchy. Anyone have any experience with this?

Also, is there a way to improve the picture quality? I have my cable line running right into my computer, but the picture is a bit fuzzy. Maybe this is because I've split it a few times or do I have to configure my ATI to give me a better picture?

I'm worried my captures will have both the mono audio and poor picture (although videosoap may be able to help with the picture, right?).

Thanks a lot for the help, I appreciate it.

Use good wires, not the cheap stuff from Walmart (RG55). You can notice quality more on a higher-resolution monitor than the tv. You will see differences between cheap wires (RG55) and better wires (RG6 shielded).

Are the audio wires setup correctly? Inside the PC? Is it set up for auxilliary mode on the ATI software?

That videosoap isn't very good. I prefer post-capture filters such as the ones in TMPGenc or Cleaner. But try the ATI ones. Just don't use them too strong, they can provide bad results (worse than not used) if done wrong.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  3. Thanks for the reply.

I'll look for some better cables today and see if that helps.

As for the audio, I'm not sure if I have it hooked up correctly. I followed the directions from the ATI instructions here. I bought a Dell system so everything was pre-installed so I didn't have to open up my computer or anything. I just plugged the audio cable into "video out" and plugged the sound wire into "line-in" on the back of my computer. Now some channels have stero and some are only in momo and I don't understand why. And my ESPN audio is really scatchy, like I can hear cable noise in the background where on other channels it's fine. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot for your help.
