You using ASPI or SETPI? (or whatever that option is called)
Just wondering, also is is the latest decrypter or an older one? I guess I'm saying we need some more info...

Very odd, not quite sure whats causing but buy I can make a few suggestiosn on things to check/try.

    1. Run Aspi check and make sure all is in order.
    2. Try smart ripper and see if it has problems, that way we know for sure if its just decrypter or not.
    3. Try the drive on its IDE chain alone without other drives if its not external.
    4. Bash head on desk.

Actually option 4 might be a bad idea, thought you could also try pulling the IDE controllers from device manager adn rebooting, its not really a fix for THIS problem but its worth a shot right?

If that doesn't do it or prove to dig up more clues I'm not sure what to say other then backup and try reinstalling... its something I tend to do every 3 or so months anyway myself.

  5. Actually, I saw a similar thing today with a new Enthusiast release of Rear Window. Unfortunately, my rip wouldn't work. I tried SmartRipper, Decrypter, and vStrip. Also tried the start in Power DVD then rip trick. Nothing. It played fine with Power DVD and in standalone. I'm no expert in the details of how rippers function, but it almost seemed to me like they've gone back to the old trick of writing errors at the end of tracks. The drive would lock up reading a portion of the file over and over again. Happened on 3 drives x 2 computers by 6 programs over and over. Worked fine on other disks before and after. Wonder if there's a new twist to protection schemes surfacing.

    thing is, it works

it throws an error up to retry or cancel

all i do is cancel and it rips the vob

it seems to be the start of the file rather than end

  7. It makes sense that it would work a lot of times if that is what they are doing is writing errors. You say ignore, which is fine the errors are intentional and not part of the stream. Decryptor moves on and copies the stuff you need.

I believe the error you are receiving is about your firm ware. Read the enitire error and it should refer you to a web site. (I'm unsure if I can post the website given in the error)

I don't recall the actual error but I saw it on my friends computer when I set him up with DVD Decrypter. And we were producing the same results as you described. (stopping after every VOB but hit cancel and still rip the movie using a different decryption algorithm)

Check out the web site and keep us posted.
