  1. Hello,

I'm trying to make my .VOB(130min) file into 3 cd's with ffmpeg, my outpout .IMG files are however not any bigger then 390MB while my bitrate is at 2500. So why should i need 3 cd's instead of two, the output mpeg file is 1.2 gig this should fit on 2 cd's ??

I don't mind using 3 or even 4 cd's but only when the full 700mb available is fully used and not half of it.

Is it possible to get a higher bitrate of let's say 3500 kbit/s, should i use XSVCD settings

I realy don't know anymore so if anyone can tell me how i can get the best quality SVCD (regardless of how many cd's i must use) from my .vob file with FFMPEG

    Higher settings, yes.
question is....... can your player handle the higher settings. Anything above 2500 is non standard svcd (XSVCD) as you noted

so find out how high your player can go, then do that if you dont care about how many disks. Personal experience has shown me that anything above 3 800.5 meg .bin files is just not noticable difference in actual video quality. and thats on my flatscreen 16:9 tv.

So check your dvd specs with the dvd list at the dvdrhelp.com home page and see what you can go up to.

My question for you is, how did you rip your DVD? What are you using to mux them together? Is it PAL or NTSC? Any sync problems??

I used ffmpegx for my SVCD creatoin and got horrible sync results so im just wondeirng what you do?
