  1. Im looking at using a drive to stream videos to my 360, ive tried a few "all in one" DVD to WMV programs, but they all came out mediocre...

Im try SUPER with an mpeg but it keeps coming out at 4:3 even though no change is selected.

Any other software ideas? or a solution to my problem with Super?

  2. tried WME and that only gives me 4:3 options too, not to mention it crashes when opening any video.

Ive never tried 123 as youve suggested.. but im not looking to buy any software

WMM or WME should do what you want. If WME is crashing, sounds like it is not properly installed or there is some other issue with your pc.

Well, it could be the file im trying to use, which is essentially an mpeg2, ripped from the dvd (dvd decrypter) and then merged with vob2mpg.
When i run WME, i add the file, set the output, choose file download, click finish (i would edit the settings myself) and it flicks back to the main GUI, opens an audio frame on the left and evberything goes blacnk (as if its not responding) and stays like that

WMM will not import the video (im guessing it might not support mpeg2?)

so do i need to convert it before i can get to this step?

i was hoping to use a HDD connected to the 360 so the PC didnt always have to be used.

It should handle mpeg2 fine. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is a microsoft product, so to work properly, your system files need to be up to date (SP2, Directx9, etc.). The requirements are listed on the microsoft site.

Otherwise, I would suspect the source file. You may want to rip/extract it again.

Nope, no simple way to do dvd to wmv.... . Either incredible slow with tmpgenc xpress or random crashes with wme or the new encode360.

Maybe try something like Winavi or Total Video Converter.

  12. i could live with random crashes, but this is every single time
    ill try TVC, thanks...

but by the looks of it, it doesnt convert TO wmv

    ill try winavi again

  13. winavi crashes as soon as it opens the vob file too.

is it perhaps because the file is too big? (over 4gb)

Try ripping the disc again with a different app, such as the latest DVDFab Decrypter.
