  1. Hi,

I have some Xvid files with permanent subtitle.

    1. How to remove the subtitles?
    2. How to save the removed subtitle into *.idx/*.sub files to make it a switchable subtitle?

    Thank you,
    Jean

If the subtitles are truly permanent and are part of the video and not in a separate file, there is no practical way to remove them except to cut out that part of the video, or mask it with a black bar. You would be better off to find a version of the video without the permanent subtitle.

  4. Barnabas.

    Thank you for your help.

I just played a little bit. The parameter setting is very important. The first try made everything blured. I'll try different parameters.

    Thanks again,
    Jean

  5. Jean,

I have never had an occasion to use the subtitle filter, but have used MSU's logo filter, and they both work a great deal alike. I would make sure that the filter area is set correctly, don't use the default option. It's a bit of trial an error to find the correct placement but should be worth it.

  7. You still have to load the filter and tell it where the subtitles are.
