I Author with TMPGenc Plus. Export VOBs
I burn with Nero 1 Express (still using 5.5)
Alternative 2
I capture and encode realtime to mpeg 2 with mainconcept 1.4.2

There are guides here, explaining all this better. Just choose "Sefy" in your left of the screen

Maybe it's got nothing to do with your process, but your burner.
Does it burn +r and -r? Do you have the correct media for it?
Usually when a burner craps out complaining there's no disk, either the burner is bad, or the medium is bad/wrong.
Only other thing is an incorrectly installed burner.Cheers, Jim

I had the same problem with my last dvd burner, for some reason i had to format them the very first time i used the disk, after that i could erase and burn at will. all i did is used roxio cd creator 5(i think) and told it to prepare disk for drop and drag data, and from then decrypter, tmpgencdvdauthor... worked find. I haven't had that problem with my new burner. hope this helps.

It could mean a number of things.
It could mean you're inserting a disc that has already been written to. It could mean you're inserting a disc that the drive doesn't recognise as writable. It could mean you're inserting a rewritable that hasn't been formatted. It could mean that you're inserting a disc that the drive doesn't know what to do with (hence, always make sure your drive is +R and -R compatible).
You would do well to a) tell us what media you're putting in and b) what brand/model drive you're putting it in. You could just look at the guides on the left, but since we've already gathered that you're a bit lazy, I'd be more than happy to do that for you."It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..."

1 - Get TMPGEnc to convert avi to mpeg. (Use help files on this site to learn how to use it.)
2 - Get Nero to burn your DVD's with.
3 - If you are missing any codec's you may need then go to
http://www.cole2k.net/ and download his codec pack. That should do it.

Dude how f'ing clueless are you anyways !?!?
Again it would be nice if you could ACTUALLY answer a question SUCH AS the f'ing model number of your SHIT burner.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say that this -RW disc should work in their +RW-only burner because it is "RW and discs are discs, right?", I could afford to publish my work myself and start my own company."It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..."

that i dont know..but it keep saying THAT DISC IN RECORDER IS NOT PROPER MEDIA FOR THIS PROJECT, PLZ INSERT A BLANK ONE
what does that mean?DUH! means your dvd burner probably doesn't use DVD-RW media. get a DVD+RW and insert it into your dvd burner, i bet it will work and no problem after that! :P

How about learning grammar and punctuation first? Seriously. I barely understand your keyboard mashing.

What a pity that we are not all as bright as the Dumb F@&% that posted such an arrogant reply
Hey, I too am having great difficulty trying to comprehend what does what.
If I posted a genuine question, would you come across as the complete AHole to me?
Where is a Moderator when you want one?

When I first came to this forum, I asked some pretty stupid questions. I did two things that our friend here seems incapable of:
First, I tried to phrase my questions so that as much information was given that could lead to the discovery of what I was doing wrong as possible. I managed to sort that out in a matter of hours and haven't looked back.
Second, when given the answer, or at least enough information to find an answer, I made use of it and didn't repeat the same question three times. I actually followed advice and took the time to learn.
Hence, I find masri frustrating. I am not inclined to hold his hand through the entire process, and I doubt the admins will be, either."It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..."

Asking questions is one thing. However, I've been around computers long enough to know that learning to do these things with the help of a guide or some limited assistance is far preferable to having the answer handed to you on a platter.
While I would never call myself an early adopter, I don't feel unjustified in calling the membership of this board pioneers. We're all experimenting and working to find solutions that nobody else has. We're also working hard to help exercise our right to back up the software we pay for.
In essence, the people of this board do not appreciate being taken for granted. You're seeing a prime example of this right now. Take a look at the original message and see for yourself if you can discern what the problem is from it. I used to work as a tech support person for a computer training firm, and the number one complaint amongst the division I was part of was people who ask questions about problems in such a manner."It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..."

Also, as asked previously, you'd be better telling everyone what your DVD+RW drive is, and what media you're using. That information accounts for an awful lot!
If you wish to check it all out for yourself, you can find searchable databases of DVD writers and DVD Media in the bar on the left-hand side of your screen.
With regards to your AVI --> DVD question, I find TMPGEnc is the best for this. Take a look at the guides for youself, they are also found on the left-hand side of your screen. I'll suggest a good one here to save you looking this time:

Just so you know, DivX is a form of AVI.
With regards to your original post, please post more information with your question, keep your posts clear and free of typos and try to take a minute more to explain what's going on. Choose a relevant subject line - the one you used tends to be skipped by most users and makes forum searches hard for other users looking for the answer (run a search and see how it works). If you take a little extra time, you'll find that your posts are answered quickly and effectively, with no stress.
Hope this helps,
Cobra
