  1. Forgive me if I posted in the wrong section, but I'm obviously new here and figured I might get the correct answers.

I am getting random errors while trying to import video. They're MP4 format. I have tried importing WMV as well and I get the same error. After memory issues with my new computer, I had to re-install Windows. I upgrade to Windows 7 and had to remove 2gigs of RAM. Memtest alerted me that my 2G stick was bad, so now I'm down to 2G's of RAM instead of 4. I will be receiving new RAM to replace in just a few days. I've had no issues with Sony Vegas until I removed memory. I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9.0 Here is the error I am receiving:

I have been going through this for the past week now. I took time off on video editing, now I'm back in the swing of things and ready to go. But, constant errors are resulting in my motivation to go from 100 to 0 very quickly. Here are my computer specs, which may be useful:

    AMD Phenom 9150e Quad-Core Processor 1.80GHz
    2.00 GB RAM
    64-bit OS
    GeForce 9800 GT 512

Video card hasn't given me any issues. Brand new. I'm all up to date on my codec. Have also tried Cineform/NeoScene to convert. Possibly thought that might help, but hasn't.

Anyone with any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

this is a longshot but perhaps when installed, it noticed 4gb ram and now there's only 2?

  3. I was thinking the exact same thing. It could be a possibility. I've been trying to find the installation disc. It's around here somewhere.. Also trying to figure out why my rendering settings are not putting out the best HD quality videos. If you have an account with Facebook, you can check the link here. It's viewable by anyone. Didn't get a chance to upload it to Youtube yet. I've noticed that if I convert the video into MP4 720p, I'll have better luck with rendering. If I convert to WMV and still render in 720 or 1080p, it looks terrible. Like I said, didn't have these issues until I removed memory. Arrgg.
