    Here are a few tips to help get your question(s) answered:

    1. Title you post according to your question. "NEED HELP FAST!!!!" or "I'M FED UP" are not the same as "Trying to convert Xvid to SVCD" (for example).

    2. Completely fill out your specs in your profile. People will be able to diagnose your problem when they have some reference. Instead of "Answer: Use Windows program X. Thread starter: I can't. I'm on a Mac.", you'll get "You can't use DVD-RW because that drive only accepts DVD+RW. Nothing else."

    3. read, Read, READ the guides. There's tons of info, and most guides almost literally hold your hand through the processes.

    Use the above tips in whatever order that you like. Some get best results as is, others with 3, 1, 2 or in any other combination. Oh, one other little tidbit:

    *Have a little patience (a lot helps too)

    .... you can't possibly ******* read that kind of nonsense.

    In fact, I normally hope those people DON'T get any help until they get spelling/grammar fundamentals down first.

    You forgot one other very important tip, supreme:

    The people on this board are not being paid to be here. They are also searching for answers to make the process of duplicating their own discs easier. They are under no obligation to help anyone. Treating them as if they are will make them cranky.

It could mean that you're inserting a disc that the drive doesn't know what to do with (hence, always make sure your drive is +R and -R compatible).

    You would do well to a) tell us what media you're putting in and b) what brand/model drive you're putting it in. You could just look at the guides on the left, but since we've already gathered that you're a bit lazy, I'd be more than happy to do that for you.
    i made sure the DVD-RW is empty....my drive is CD/DVD+REWRITABLE

    hold on..does that mean it wont read DVD-RW?
    Dude how f'ing clueless are you anyways !?!?

    Again it would be nice if you could ACTUALLY answer a question SUCH AS the f'ing model number of your SHIT burner.

    But it sounds like it is +R/RW only so that DVD-RW disc might as well be a slice of bread.

    So now My CRIME is being new here
    NO, your crime is being a dick head.
    masri had 7 helpful replies to his post, then he pissed off some of the best guys on this forum by not listening. Even teegee, who is usually first in, won't help. It's a bit ironic that you are berating us when all your posts contain insults. Even Fulcilives has a better record than that (when he's taking his medication)

    This is actually font specific. It normally only works in Times or Palatino (serifs). Using sans-serif like Verdana it's just gibberish. Our eyes cause it because we learned to read whole words, often Times fonts.

    Yea, the brain is a wonderful thing when you know how to use it. The paragraph above is an illustration of how the brain automatically processes spelling and order. Because when we read we do not read individual letters we read whole words. I doesn't have anything to do with grammer. The exact same process in the brain groups 937 as nine hundred thirty seven, instead of 900+30+7 or nine hundreds, three tens and seven ones. You will find that people who are not fluent in english or are just learning english cannot read that paragraph.

    I was going to go on with a long post about your attitude and how you are the one needing help and how we know what we are doing and all that...but then I realized that I don't care. (and I am probably the most sensitive caring person you'll find around here)

    Do you think this would be a good time to ask masri for a paypal donation to DVDRHelp?

    I think now would be a good time to implement net-literacy tests.

    Speaking of which, the font on my window is incredibly small. How do I change the size of fonts on this site?

    @Zippity:
    Read my avatar. If you haven't got anything constructive to say about the topic at hand then **** off.

    You are as bad as a threadjacker.

    @Masri:
    It may well be that the brand of RWs you bought does not play well with your burner. If this is the case, try a couple of different brands. You can normally find at least one brand that will be tops with your burner.

    In the future try to be a bit more positive - The programs you are using do not suck - you suck at using them. That's OK - all you need to do is learn a few more of the basics and the rest will look after itself. Most people here are willing to help people prepared to help themselves, and by asking the same question 3 times and not doing what someone suggested, you are not doing yourself any favours.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Have we even determined what drive and media masri is using yet?

    More important- do we even care what masri is using anymore?

    I still do, because I want to feel victorious when I make him realise that he could have solved his problem days ago if he'd just followed our bloody advice!
