  2. TSMuxer doesn't transcode like DVDShrink but it will remove unwanted titles.

ripbot might be your best bet currently. It can convert to mp4 or mkv. You can target to dual or single layer dvdrs if desired.

  7. Was there any new development for any program that will "copy" out the main movie, such a DVDShrink can do?

When I mean copy out, it would create the same file/folder structure of a Blu Ray, of the main movie (less menus, extras, etc.)

if You just want the movie with no actual re-encoding of the video do this:
1- load de-crypted disc into BDinfo (up to you how to do that....)
2- note the longest PLS file on the disc
3- Open tsmuxerGUI and load the PLS file noted earlier
4- deselect the streams you dont want
5- select blu-ray muxing and output folder and hit encode

this will give you a BD structure of the title you chose with jsut the streams you wanted. time will vary but takes about 30-45 mins for me on my USB drive. hope this helps

  9. Hey, thanks for the quick reply.

More steps than I wanted to take, but if it work... get me by until all-on-one solution comes out.

    Thanks!

  10. dannyboy,

I have ISO images... when I mount with Virtual Clone Drive (Slysoft), I don't see it.
It mounts ok and opens up my player, like I had set it up to do.
But I don't see anything mounted in a virtual drive and I don't see it in BDinfo.

Is there a way to do this with iso's?

When you have a mounted iso it "opens" the same as a physical disc in a drive

ps. 9 times out of 10 if you drop the 1 big .m2ts file into TsMuxer it is the right 1 unless you have a "seamless branching disc" in which you will need the playlist to get the correct play order

You do the PLS file so you get the subtitles and chapter marks included in the output folders. Other wise you may have a 'branch' issue and you will have to define the chapters manually. Also some movies have the movie in multiple M2TS files that the PLS defines. You use the PLS that is all taken care of.

    Blizz,

I usually dont make ISO's I use BDINFO and TSMUXER with the disc directly and rip out what i want for future use. I remember having problems with slysoft's virtual drive. So i used Daemon tools. Only down side with daemon tools is you cant play the disc with power dvd. Arcsoft total media theatre 3 will though and more impotantly BDINFO and TSMUXER will be able to acess the disc. if this dont work holla back
if all else fails read the manual

It is a known issue that Daemon Tools SPTD drivers can slow rip speeds on some systems

I rip and demux w/ TsMuxeR in 1 fell swoop too, then make a iso w/ imgburn

I've installed Daemon Tools... using Daemon Tools, I mounted a Blu Ray iso. I have it set so that PDVD opens up and auto plays the BD movies. This is exactly what happes using Daemon Tools as it did with VirtualCloneDrive. DT mounted it on drive J, yet when I view try to view J in windows explorer, I don't see anything mounted on that drive.

In DBInfo, I select drive J and get an error: The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted.

@BlizzofOZ - If your PC is running XP or Win2K, install the UDF Reader program and see if that fixes your drive problem. XP and Win2K don't come with drivers for UDF 2.5 file systems, which BluRay uses. Vista does come with a driver, so you should not need to install this if you have Vista or (God help you, you fool) a more recent version of Windows - Windows 7 or whatever they are calling it.

Ok, now that I can mount a iso and actually see it, I've tried the above steps... and it works!

With some testing, I was able to shave off 2-4 GB off the original, whole Blu Ray movie.

I have a question pertaining to item #4: deselect the streams you dont want
Any suggestions of what to remove or keep? I deselected any in the "lang" column that was NOT "eng". That shaved about .80 GB off. Is there anything as "eng" that I can remove?
For instance, there are 2 "eng" with track info of "Presentation Graphic Stream #0"" and ""4". Keep both?

I do have a question (above), about items that I can remove or keep... any suggestions?

Um, on the audio stream extact the 'core' (in track options when the audio track is highligted). This will leave a 640kbs stream for AC3 and 1536kbs stream for DTS which saves about another 4GB! as far as subs, select the first ENG track in the list. the others are usually commenatry tracks. Also delsect all video streams but the 1080p one as there are pip streams. Some movies I save 1GB (audio core actraction) others I save 20GB (video steams deselection) mileage will vary.

pgs is subtitles, I delete all of them

They are enabled in PDVD by default and you have to manually turn them off every time

ps. udf reader, damn I knew that, wasn't thinkin'
