I noticed that some people on this site are complaining that their just burned DVDs are freezing in their standalone DVD player. One question that should ALWAYS be asked when this happens is, "Are there zone burning rings on the DVD when you look at the surface of the plastic?" (In other words, burned portion of plastic should appear completely homogeneous with no visible concentric lines, rings, differences in hue or shade.)
See my earlier post on this topic:
https://forum.videohelp.com/topic361220.html
My question is: How can I find out before I buy a new DVD burner which ones produce zone burn rings (and are therefore worthless for making DVDs)? I would like to see a list here of all burners that produce zone burn rings so that I can avoid them.

The "zone burn rings" you talk about are abnormal
