Change to 1 cd. I use AutoGK or FairUse Wizard.

I'm 100% sure AutoGK can output to one file, with the size you want.
To know the difference "between all this huge No. for program" you have to try them for your self.

  6. AutoGK is, as the name implies, automatic. Just open the IFO in it, leave everything else alone, except for maybe specifying the codec, the size you want, and any subtitles, and come back when it's finished. If you have any problems with it, post the log file here after the encode. If you like it, let us know.

By the way, for best results, get your movie onto the hard drive using DVD Decrypter in IFO Mode (up at the top, Mode->IFO), which isn't the default setting. If you have a recent movie on DVD, one that has one of the newer protections on it, better might be to use RipIt4Me in Movie mode.

No, as "best" is subjective. The "Auto" in AutoGK will do a very good job, but likely there can be a better setting. However, I'd think it takes quite some skill and experience in configuring thecodec to beat what AutoGK does.
