Convert DVD to Pinnacle Editable Format

I have converted my Video 8 tapes using the Sony Video Recordable DVD Drive (VRD-VC20). The DVD has two directories named VIDEO_RM and VIDEO_TS. I would like to convert these DVD's to format that Pinnacle 9 can edit.

You could try VOB2MPG and convert the DVD to one large MPEG file. Most any MPEG editor should then work.

I scan the forum on a regular basis looking for ideas and problem resolution. In scanning the forum, I noticed the several recommendations to VOB2MPG.

I attempted to use VOB2MPG. I recieve the attached msg with no converted file.

Are screen shot attachments OK or should I retype the msg?

After hours of research and many trails, I have found a process that solves my issue. I value this forum’s dedication to helping everyone, so I want to let you know the process. I use ShrinkDVD to create a backup of my DVD. I use the output of the backup process on the hard drive for the VOB2MPG input. This generates a MPG file that Pinnacle is able to edit. Case Solved!
