I've had much luck using Handbrake to convert a bunch of music videos from DVD to mp4 for my new iPod. However, the newest Director's Label DVDs don't appear to work with the program.
I'm using MTR to rip the DVDs to my HD, then Handbrake to convert to mp4. However, while Handbrake says it's converting, no file is created when it's done. This only occurs with this set of DVDs. I tried converting directly from the DVD as well, but Handbreak said it couldn't find a title.
Is there an alternative program that I can try?

Since you have the decrypted VOBs, you can try opening them with MPEG Streamclip. Just open the first one and it will ask if you want to open them all as one continuous movie. Next if you have iMovie HD installed, you will be able to output from MPEG Streamclip using the Apple Intermediate Codec. (You'll have to play around with the settings a bit.) Note, this will make a huge file. You can then open this file in QT7pro and encode as H.264/mp4 or whatever you like.
Not the cleanest or easiest way, but usually works for me when HB doesnt. There probably is a similar path via ffmpegX if you don't own QT7pro. -

MPEG Streamclip will work. Drop the first .VOB in and the app will ask if you want all of them. Okay it and get a cup of coffee. Lots of options (if you want). Great app. Free!
