  1. I have Win11 64Bit and Movie Studio 8.0 it all works good.

I do use the Green Screen FX all the time and they work good.

Now if I want to take me out of a video with other things in the background I can use the Mask FX by Hand but it is a lot of things to do.

I did see how you can use a Free Program called Cab Cut I think.

Then I see a lot of Bad things about this program as well.

Is there any Free program just to take you out of a Video and maybe not Compress it so you can use it in another Video?

Thank you for all your time.

  2. Kdenlive is free and can do this automatically from version 25.04 on. It has a Remove Background / Object Mask tool based on Meta's SAM2 model, and it runs locally on your PC.

Put the clip in the project bin, set in and out points in the clip monitor, click Remove Background (or Create an Object Mask), then click on yourself in the monitor and hit Generate Mask. When it's done, Apply Mask gives you the clip with the background gone. The first time, it installs the plugin and downloads a model (Settings > Configure Kdenlive > Plugins). It works on CPU, but an NVIDIA card with CUDA is much faster.

To bring it back into Movie Studio without another lossy encode, render from Kdenlive as a PNG image sequence (PNG keeps the transparency) and put that on a track above your new background.

Check the edges at 100%, since hair and fast hand movement usually need a touch-up, but it's a lot less work than masking by hand.

  3. If your background is static or with little motion then you can extract it by using average in temporal domain - simply adding all frames together or at least with sufficiently large temporal range will give you possibility to separate background from other features, this works neatly also for static logo (especially translucent ones).

  4. So can I Download Kdenlive to my Computer.

Is this a Video Editting Program or just to do FX with?
