Canopus ADVC-300 to iMac connection

Greetings,

I have been using Canopus ADVC-300 to digitize many old VHS tapes with my older iMac, and it has worked well. However, my iMac is very slow, and I decided to upgrade to a newer iMac (2021) and tried the very same connection method to Final Cut Pro X, but the "media" doesn't show Canopus anymore. I tried several things, but it still didn't work. Anyone out there can help? (See attachment for the streamline map that was recommended, but it didn't work.) Thank you so much!

Which version of Mac OS are you using? Apple dropped support for FireWire beginning with Tahoe (26).

It should, or you can just keep using the iMac. Capturing DV does not require a powerful CPU. My 800 MHz iBook G3 from 2003 can do it flawlessly.
