I need help please from the gurus here.

I have five source videos ripped using MakeMKV from the same blu ray disc: Main feature appears to be progressive 24 fps. 4 deleted scenes appear to be 29.976 fps Telecine. My goal is to IVTC all four deleted scenes to 24 fps to match the main feature, so they can be inserted using Vegas 22.

Side note: Source codec is VC-1 so I need to convert everything to H.264 prior to editing in Vegas anyway. Getting the frame rates to match is where I'm stumped.

https://wiki.videolan.org/Deinterlacing/ and https://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation:Advanced_Use_of_VLC both document that VLC is IVTC capable. Poor documentation though on how to invoke this option in the GUI.

When I attempt to convert one of the files, there is only a "deinterlace" checkbox on the convert screen. No detailed options on which deinterlace option to apply. The result is a nice deinterlaced 29.976 fps file with ghosting and other such unwanted info. Not a properly IVTC'ed 24 or 23.976 FPS file.

Any thoughts here on if I'm missing something, or simply how to invoke the IVTC function when converting in VLC?

use handbreak the default setting will make them 23.976fps all you need to do is go to video and set the fps to 23.976fps and choose constant framerate if the original was video was pal but converted to ntsc that can sometime cause ghosting
