  1. Alright I need some help,
I converted my file (with divx.avi extension) to Video-CD PAL (MPEG-1 352x288 25fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps). Ok, after i had an mpeg file I cut it into 2 files bc it couldnt fit on one CD. I burnt both files with Adaptec EZCD creator. Neither of the discs will play in the DVD player or my computer, even when i try to open the music01.dat file with windows media player. Please let me know the correct way to create a VCD that is compatible with most DVD players. Thanks!

    Hi

I also use Easy CD V5 (Roxio)

All movies when converted need 2 disks, the original divx might be 220Mb but the mpeg is going to be 500Mb or more.

Just the other day a mate popped around for me to make a copy of a film for him. I used one of his disks and one of mine for the film. His disk refused to play.

So it can be down to the type of disk you use, mine were cheap ones £19.99 Argos, but the can also get problems making audio cd's with mine, then I use tdk or Maxell

Swings and round abouts, try diffrent makes to see what your player supports.

My sony playes anything !, including scrap disks !!

  4. Thanks John,
I think it also might just be the DVD player like you said, bc I know the disc works bc it plays on all 3 of my computers without a problem. But I guess that is also totally different than playing it on a DVD player. I'll try it on a different make DVD player and see if it accepts it.

    Hi

Well the disks might play fine on the computer. My mates did, but not in his player. So he is now using the same make cd's as me and its fine.

So try a diffrent brand of cd's

BTW, I renamed one of those .dat files back to .mpg and it playes on the computer as normal

  6. Hey,
What brand of CD do you use? I just use some cheap kind that doesn't even have a name. They are like 50 CDs for $12.

  7. Try using Memorex CD-RW Platinum or any disc with a silver backing. I tried a cheap CD-R diac that was blue on the back and didn't work. Then I tried the aforementioned Memorex and it worked fine. It just depends on the disc.

You were right! I copied the file from my cheap CD-R to a Memorex CD-RW and it worked GREAT!! Thanks
