    Used Easy CD 5, converted avi to vcd with tmpgenc. When I burn short files of a few minutes, they play fine. When I burn the full file, it loads on the dvd player but sits there after pressing play, wont take off.

    Try using nero instead. I had the same problem when i burned a vcd using easy cd creator 5.
