I'm trying to create a single DVD (4.7 GB capacity) from TWO separate .avi files which I converted directly into DVD format (VTS, VOB, etc) with WinAvi. Each .avi file created its own separate folder, CD 1 and CD 2, with identical file extensions (VTS_01_0.BUP; etc.)
The problem I have is two-fold. First, I can't seem to combine the .vob files using TMPGenc to re-author for a single DVD. TMPGEnc gives me a "Audio differs from single track" for the third vob file from CD1 and then doesn't permit me to continue. (I get the same error when I try to proceed first with CD2)
I then tried creating a single iso image using isobuster. The problem is that the image is 5.5 GB and DVDshrink gives me an error "Invalid DVD Navigation structure" when I try to load the image for shrinkage to a DVD that's 4.7 GB in size.
Can anyone give me any advice on how to combine these two files to create a single 4.7GB DVD?

You can either join the original .AVI files using Easy Video Joiner which will correctly join them and output it as one .avi file the convert to a DVD ready for DVD Shrink
or
Try using DVD Shrink in ReAuthor mode, just import each title one at a time and DVD Shrink will treat it as one DVD, and play them straight after each other -
DVD Shrink gives me one of the two following errors however: (i) Invalid navigation structure; or (ii) Invalid Data in file: "C
ocuments and Settings\VTS._01_3.VOB"
Is there any reason for this?
I'd like to avoid to re-encoding the entire avi file again because it required using WinAvi in conjunction with VOBSUB. -
You can't combine two different dvd structures to one without reauthoring (reencode is not necessary!).
Let's assume your vob files are correct and dvd compliant (not sure as two programs have problems with it).
You may try the following approach (needs a lot of disk space):
Join your vob files to one big mpeg file. This can be done from the command prompt with:
copy /b VTS_01_1.VOB + VTS_01_2.VOB + VTS_01_3.VOB Film1.mpg
and
copy /b VTS_01_1.VOB + VTS_01_2.VOB + VTS_01_3.VOB Film2.mpg
for the second set of vob files.
Now you may use my GUI for DVDAuthor (use titlesets) to create the DVD structure (you may also use a different authoring program, but it should not demux).
Use DVDShrink to resize the new structure (incl. menus...)
Try this structure with a soft player first. If OK, burn...
