  1. It used to work before I upgraded my hardware and and to reload win2k.
    I'm encoding avi loaded from my mini-dv.
    All I get is black picture.
    Any clues?

    priority settings are too low in Tmpgenc or the needed codecs are not installed on your computer.

    most likely one of those 2 things

    TMPGEnc supports DV files type 2.

    Capture your files using WinDV and make sure you choose type 2 for the capture. Then download and install Panasonic DV codec.

    Re-encode with TMPGEnc.
