    On entering Smartripper it starts at code info Searching Key which takes an eternity also the progress bar for DVD takes about 20 minutes before it starts moving. I have never encountered this problem before it always started to rip straight away. Anybody any idea's as to what's causing this.

    It did that to me the other day using an older version, 2.13. I'm guessing some kind of better copy protection on dvd's, the newer version, 2.41, did not do it, the newer version uses decss plus where as the older version uses decss without the plus, maybe that is the difference. It happened on the new MAD MAX dvd. both dvd decrypter and claddvd also ripped right away.

    also, could be the dvd itself is kinda scratched, so it may take longer to get key from the dvd-rom

    yes and also if your DVD-Drive is hot becuase the computer was running alday tht could also slow down your key searching somakes sure you cool down your drive before ripping
