i've capped a video from my vhs camcorder with my ati allinwonder radeon, with the quality settings on high. i'm running winxp with an athlon xp1500, and 256 mb of ddr memory. the ati software gives me a good looking file with an extension of mp2. is this the normal extension for mpeg2 video files, or is it proprietary to ATI? what tools can i use to edit this file type before burning? i have adobe premiere 6.

  2. Normally mp2 files are supposed to be Audio MPEG-1 Layer 2 files - predecessor to mp3. This being a video file could possibly be MPEG2 file. If you have the MPEG2 codecs installed, try opening this file in Windows media player after changing the extension to mpg.
What does the ATI manual say?
I am not aware if Adobe Premiere can open MPEG2 files, perhaps it can.
