  1. Hello,

I have a load of avi files that are split into 70 peices i.e., *.avi.001, *.avi.002, *.avi.003,........ * .avi.070, I want to know how to join them up into one single *.avi file and also, if i try to play them in windows media player, they wont play it gives an error.I tried to rename them by removing the ".001" part of the name , idf i do this the windows media player icon appears before the new name i.e. , *.avi, but the player is unable to play the file, can anyone help me on this at all , it would be great .

    Thanks all in advance.
    Dosie,

  3. Hmmm. Methinks you have an avi file that is in rar format. If so those files aren't really avi files. They are compressed containers which contain avi files. You should try to unrar them. Use a too called winrar. You can find it with a google search. When you decompress them they will automatically join together into one avi file.

  5. See my 1st post, use google to find it. It will join the files correctly for you.

  6. Dosie,
If you extracted those files correctly they ahouls all have come togehter into one avi file. Right click on the first file (avi.001) and when the drop down box appears, choose "extract to avi/". All your files should then extract as one file.
