    heys guys,
    I have two questions,

one, I have seen many anime music videos where the creator has placed a transition that causes the scene slowly fades to white, then the next scene starts, does anyone know the name of above described transition?

two, are there any free transitions for adobe premiere? if so what site?

    thanks,
    sincerely,

I don't use Premier but that's a general transition usually labled cross fade. You just fade the video into a white color clip, another clip, image.....

I use Premiere 6.0 and thecoalman is spot on - it's a type of cross fade. Premiere calls them "Dissovles" - and there's various types - Additive, Cross etc.

Experiment to find the one you want, but I find the "Cross Dissolve" looks best.

I've knocked up a quick diagram of how it'd look in Premiere:

The "T" would be a purple box representing your chosen transition. The arrow is pointing down because you're going down from Track 1A to 1B. If you were doing a transition from B to A, the arrow needs to be pointing up. This can be done by clicking on the arrow, or double clicking on the transition to bring up a small settings box.

Clip X is the on you want to fade out. Clip Y is the next clip to play.

The "Z" is the white (or whatever colour) page you are fading to. This can simply be a full blank page from MS Paint, saved as a bitmap.

    Hope that helps, good luck.

  4. premiere can generate a white video clip. How depends on what version you're using.

  6. Project>Create>Color matte. or File>New>Color Matte. Can't remember where exactly in 6.5.
Then dissolve into it with a cross-dissolve transition as described above. Hope this helps.
