  1. Ok I have a ntsc tv 27"Sony Trinitron Flat Screen Tv it has 16:9 Enhanced mode my question is I got a Pal DVD from a friend and the dvd says its in widescreen but when I play it, it plays in full screen the only way to get it to widescreen is if I use the built in 16:9 Enhanced mode built into the tv! Now is it a setting in the dvd player? Because all my NTSC Widescreen dvd's play in widescreen! Thanks for any help on this matter! I just dont like fullscreen!

Most DVD players have a menu item to set the output to full screen (4:3) or widescreen (16:9). I assume yours is set for full screen but your player is overriding this setting with NTSC disks but not with PAL ones.

As widescreen TVs seem much more common in Europe, virtually all PAL DVDs are in widescreen. The only full screen ones I've seen recently are of very old films that were made in 4:3 originally.
