    how can i remove distortion from avi files? like crackling sounds, or popping, that only happen once or twice in whole file

    I would run the AVI's wave file through Gold Wave. You can either run it through its Noise Filter =>Pop/Click function, or since it rarely happens, zoom in to the distortion, reduce its volume to zero, and save it and mux the new file to the AVI.

    is it possible to remove popping from ready made dvd's? ones that have already been encoded and burned onto disc?
