  1. I have 2 movies that near the end keep glitching out and freezing, I watched these 2 movies on my computer from the file on my hard drive and never came up with this problem, any ideas on why it keeps doing this ?

  4. actually its not necessarily the media... I had the same probelems too oon some good high quality media... I found out that at the ends of the DVDS the quality is quite poor... so compress the files a little more so they dont fill up the whole dvd

    I only use
4200 mgs when I make movies and it fixed the problem easily with little distortion to the movies

So you had quite poor high quality media?

I agree with Feel, and this is the exact same technique/method when I burn my DVDs. ( I sometimes go to 4300MB ).
It's time to kick some butts, and presto ( if you know what I mean )

  7. I'll try that guys, the media I am using is fuji so I don't think its the disc. Also what are other ways to shrink the size of the movie your downloading, I know frame rate shrinks them drasticly, anything else ????

  8. I had that problem and it was my FAT32 harddrive causing it. I was able to solve the problem by using Img Tool Classic to make segmented image files for DVD Decrypter to burn.

  9. So what should I shrink down ? I though the dvd-r had 4.38 gm not mb, sorry if the conversion for mb is that, I'm not good with computers. Anyways should I shrink the frame rate down ?

  10. Often times you won't come across those problems on your computer because computer dvd drives are far more capable of reading so-so discs than stand alone dvd players. Cheap and/or poor media tends to have problems near the edges. Either get better media, or don't burn all the way to the edge.

Open DVDShrink and go to Edit->Preferences->Target DVD Size. Enter 4200 MB. Worth a try.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

It is nearly always the media when this happens, and it is definitely the media if you shrink to a lesser size and it works on the exact same media. It means the outer edges of the discs are poor.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Fuji = Staples (in Canada)

Speaking of which, they have a sale on the 5 packs that nets you a $5 rebate per pack. Friday August 27th they have a midnight madness sale so they may end up with lots of cheap(er) stuff. I'll have to go and see...

See www.nomorecoasters.com. That will give you a good explanation of what happens when media doesn't work right.

Shrink the DVD you author before you burn it! You can't just burn AVI files either I think.

So convert to Mpeg, author your DVD, shrink the DVD you created, burn that. I do it often because I sometimes capture more than I plan, just playing around, or estimate the time and bit rates wrong, and my dvd turns out just a little too large.

    It works for sure.

    Ya, me too
Not a media problem the high quality disks are poor quality??
    OOO KKK
    If you say so.

But I have had a good high quality disk that played perfect 9/10 times, but once it started the movie really slow, jumpy, jerky! Nothing like stop, fast forward or rewind would fix it. I opend the tray, closed the tray, it worked perfect. I never touched the disk! Never had any problems before or after with that player either, so what was that??
Both player and DVD worked perfect everytime it's ever been used, except that once!
