Hey ppls. What's a good software to convert .sub to .srt? Or possible .ssa?
One of the guides here lead to a subtool program which supposedly can convert sub to srt but whenever I try to open the sub file it says "The selected file is not a subtitle" which couldn't be true because it's a .sub file?? Weird... Why can't it open it?
    Thanks for any help!

is it a sub/ifo file(image subs, around 1-10MB)? then use subrip. if it is a text sub files use subtitle workshop.

Yeah it is kinda large...3MB-8MB. It's the VOBsub i think. It has an IDX and a SUB file...
Thanks for the link...I've downloaded the program but it does look kinda complex. Is there no guide to help me? What I'm trying to do is to add the subs into a divx movie. I only know of converting the srt to ssa and then combining it with the movie but... this vobsub thingy is new to me.

So, any guide on the best settings and the way to convert using subrip? I played with it a bit and there's one part where I keep typing the subtitles myself? What's that suppose to do?

    Thanks Baldrick.
