The .srt format has no support for positioning or formatting subtitles. If you're interested in either, you might consider using the .ass subtitle format.

  3. You can also adjust the position on playback with most software players. To move it up/down you would adjust the y position.

Oops. Yeah, I should have asked if the OP wanted simply to change where a software player was placing the subs.

Also depends on what authoring progran you use.it will let you move the subtitles on srt to watch on home dvd players cause i used to do it with dvd2svcd,not just software players.

Doesnt matter cause srt subs can be moved with software players and home dvd players depending on the program used.

ifx? Do you mean to say IDX? As in VobSubs (IDX/SUB)?

Why not just convert to SSA format text based subs (or ASS, as Ai Haibara suggests)? In those you can set the font, size, colors, position, etc. SubResynch (comes included in the VobSub package), among other programs, can do it instantly.

  14. Oh, sorry, I didn't realize these were Chinese subs. How about SubtitleCreator? Did you try that already? It can convert SRT to IDX/SUB (VobSubs), but I don't know how it handles Chinese subs.
