  1. I use nero to make vcd's and have wondered if I can put music in the background during the menu part.
Like I say,I use NERO(newest)so if there is any other software that makes vcd and menu's and the option of adding music to the menu are, please let me know.
Basicaly I have my vcd load,I get my background picture with my text i added, and I push play and im off!!!
I would just like to add a little music to the menu in the background.

  2. It seems you have a couple options... both of which will require you to use VCDImager ( http://www.vcdimager.org/pub/vcdimager/vcdimager-0.7_UNSTABLE/vcdimager-0.7.9.win32.zip ), and perhaps a GUI (VCD2XML will get the job done) it's here http://home.cinci.rr.com/mhill/vcd2xml-0.0.2.zip
and the forum string that will tell you a bit about it is here https://www.videohelp.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=51309&forum=1

Now, making the menu.. you can either use TMPGenc to make a mpeg clip out of a BMP that looks like the menu that you want, and a WAV file as the audio source... or, you can use these guides
    http://www.geocities.com/mikk999/VCDStills.htm
    http://www.geocities.com/mikk999/StillsWithAudio.htm
to make High Resolution still images with or without audio as the menu. I sure hope you already know about XML, and VCDImager, and TMPGenc... if not... keep reading up.. you'll figure it all out soon.

Unfortunately, menu creation was the one area that EZCD was better than Nero. With EZCD, you could make up a menu with any image and music and font and layout and extra pages, etc. With Nero, you're stuck with a title, line, numbers, item text/thumbnail (optional line and footer).

  4. I should have added that I have EZCD 5 Platinum
I have tried with it but it was a little confusing making a vcd with a menu.
    What are the steps???
Thanks for both replys BTW...... =-)

  5. I couldn't get the VCD2XML link to work properly. I am using Get Right and it says something about the link to the save no longer existing. Is there another place to download this program?

Also, I installed the other program you listed and everything worked fine until I tried to run it. I unzipped all of the files into a new folder but couldn't get any of the .exe's to open. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

  6. the .exe's don't do anything because they are command prompt programs... I didn't know how to work them either for a while... here's where I found out how https://www.videohelp.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=64994&forum=1&0

  8. I followed the instructions that you provided with the link but I'm having difficulty working it. I tried typing in the command vcdxbuild --help but I always get an error message that reads **ERROR: xml input file argument missing -- try --help. Any suggestions?

Also, are there any other easier to use programs that allow you to add music to your menus? I really want to do this but there have been several obsticles in the way. I can't get the download to work for the GUI program or whatever it was and I can't understand the VCD Imager program.
