  1. I have a few VCDs that I would like to put the label for the movie on the CD, however I'm not sure how to accomplish this task. Any suggestion of how I can pull a picture off the CD or other options. Thanks in advance.

  2. Here's a few options:

    1. Scan the cover/CD to get the original artwork.

    2. Check out http://www.cdcovers.cc for a decent selection of movies, but not everything.

    3. Go to http://www.amazon.com and search for the movie you want... click on the picture of the cover to get a larger version, then save and use that.

    4. If it's a music CD, I usually go to http://www.cdnow.com to get pictures of the covers.

    5. If none of these places have what you're looking for... use VirtualDub to just use the Print Screen button and Microsoft Paint to take a screen shot of the movie. Use a few of those and layout your own cover.

I do this to make a CD label and DVD case artwork for every VCD I make, even TV shows... though I have to make my own covers for those, obviously.

If you don't know how to print the labels, just buy a label making kit from Best Buy or Office Depot or something... don't get the Memorex one though, it sucks.

Any other questions, post them here. Good luck!

  3. Thanks! I'll try your suggestions. I have a CD Labeling program, but just didn't know how to pull the picture for the CD.

  4. Mikewg, one last question. You indicated that you can use VirtualDub to print a screen picture. Please indicate exactly how you can do this, because I don't see a print screen button in VirtualDub. Thanks again.

  5. Mediaface is probably the best software for creating all types of labeling it has all the proper templates. Visit the Neato site for more info.

  6. The print screen "button" isn't a button, its a key on your keyboard, right next to "scroll lock" and about "insert"

  7. Surferr:
    "PrintScreen" in VirtualDub.
    ----------------------------
    1. Open your video in VirtualDub
    2. Move the slider to the scene you want
    3. Select Video -> Copy Source Frame to Clipboard (or Copy Output Frame to Clipboard)
    4. Open MS Paint or PaintShopPro or any suitable application and Paste the clipboard image.
