What is with DirecTV and their audio sync?
Sometimes the sudio can be off by as much a 2 seconds!
Checking it on my computer, it seems that on any given
day, their audio-to-picture sync can vary from 0 to over 200
    milliseconds! Quite irratating.
Isn't there a spec that allows Satellite broadcasts to butcher the audio
only up to 30 milliseconds maximum?

Granted, sometimes the original "old show" may be off to begin with,
but I believe DirecTV is screwing things up the most, by far.

    This really sucks!
    Any comments please?!?!

  2. I have a directv with tivo built in. I have noticed that on some of my channels when I tivo them and watch them later, there is a slight pause, then catch up of a second or less every so often. At first I though it was a tree I had interfering or the unit, but it only happens on certain channels, during the same weather conditions. Maybe they are doing "something to signals" on some channels. The channels are the local broadcast of ABC - the soaps for my wife, and sometimes Techtv, oops I mean g4techtv.

I agree, some channels are worse than others.
And inconsistant... for example, sync may be off for only
a few minutes, then gets corrected.
I like the Action channel, and some days the audio is
    out of sync for hours!

Some stations are obviously better quality. I'm sure
that DirecTV charges their broadcasting customers
according to their bandwidth/quality. Still, you'd think that
at a minimum, the audio should always be in sync.

I'm noticing this sync issue more and more, the closer I pay attention.
