  1. Hi I am using DVD shrink to backup some of my DVDs I have and was wondering which subtitles and extra disc stuff I can get rid of to not have to use compression and lose quality, I can see where you can eliminate some of the stuff but am not sure what is safe to get rid of and still have room on the disc to keep the original. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Subtitle streams are very small,a few MB's. But if you don't need them, uncheck them. Audio streams are another case. A DTS stream could be 800MB's,that would be a 20% increase in the video stream if you uncheck DTS. A 5.1 stream is about 400MB's and a 2.0 stream about 175MB's. Personally I save only the 2.0 stream to maximize video quality.

  4. OK sorry Im being lame, but just so I have this right, I uncheck all the foreign languages in the main movie folder and the extras folder...DTS was already unchecked so I shouldnt worry about that, correct?

Also, in the main movie folder, Do I need AC3 5.2 French and AC3 English directors comments?

Also do I choose no compression from the drop doiwn or stick with automatic?

    Thank you for the help

  11. Keep the subtitles, they are very small and will not make much difference in the final quality output. Besides, you'll never know when you will start learning a foreign language, or meeting someone who's doing it, and needs to watch your subtitled movies.... eh eh eh
