    Hi
Is it possible to create a dvd that has about 30 folders with about 100 jpgs in each and to have some kind of menu linking to them so that it will play in a standalone dvd player,
I have heard of a program that says it would do that but it was really expensive.
    Cheers for any help!

no. but you can make a dvd-video with still pictures and also store the jpg originals on the dvd (and make a pconly menu for those).

You can create 30 slide-shows with your preferred editing program and create a menu, with your preferred authoring software ti have each slide show play like an independent piece of film.

Ulead's DVD Movie Factory 2 was pretty good at that. You can group jpg's in a folder....although I believe you are limited to 99 pictures in a folder.
The menu's are rather remedial but most likely sufficient for the purposes you want. I would imagine that the newer version of MF has the same capability.

You can even add music to the 'slideshows' and control the duration that each picture remains on the screen.

I've made a couple of mixed dvd's that way....it's not too difficult at all.

of course, MF2 and MF3 are not free, so it depends on what you mean by "expensive"

by the way.....I found that 30 menu items was about the maximum you'd want to try without risking MF2 freezing up. I made some dvd's with more but sometimes it took a few tries to make it thru the process. I haven't used MF3 more then 4 or 5 times so I don't know if this is true with it.

    ULead DVD Picture Show 2

And since you are running XP you could also try Windows Movie Maker which you already have.
