I recently built my grandson a computer for playing his games because I don't like games on my computer (don't play them, don't like to waste the space).
His recent favorite is "Enter the Matrix". He is seven years old. Today I noticed the 'Play' disk was really in bad shape (severe scratches, food particles, etc). I decided to make a copy while it's still readable. However, the copy doesn't work. The computer recognizes it but it doesn't initiate the game. I suppose there is some type of 'protection' at work here. Does anyone know what the secret is?

If it works, don't fix it.

Gotta have something to remove it's copyright protection. Also Make sure if it's a DVD game you're using DVD media to burn it. Sometimes the size may not be compatible, but usually the software you use tell you this and won't do the burn. It may not be the problem, and these solutions may not work, but it's worth a shot. But you'll probably find the main issue is the copyright protection.Originally Posted by dxj40c

You could try using A-Ray Scanner v2.0, this program checks discs for various types of copy proctection http://www.aray-software.com/ At least you'll know if the disc is protected or not.
