I used Gui For DVD Author to make a DVD and I noticed there are 4 secret hidden "Back" button files in the DVD file structure. (See screenshot 1 and 2). My question is: What is the purpose of these 4 additional files, since they don't normally display when playing the finished DVD? I have noticed, that if a DVD player player has difficulty reading the DVD and locks up, then sometimes this secret hidden "Back" button will appear on the TV. Is there any easy way (when authoring the DVD) to keep these "Back" buttons from appearing in the DVD file structure (since they seem to have no use)?

AFAIK, those are just the menu screens. From 'WHAT IS' DVD to the upper left on this page:
VTS_01_0.VOB Title Set 01, VOB 0, the menu for this title -
This menus are just 'dummy' screens. If 'Use Titlesets' is activated, GfD automatically creates a titleset menu for each added video. If no buttons are added to these menus (except the automatically created 'Back' button), these menus are never shown. Unfortunately it is not possible to omit these 'dummy' screens completely if dvdauthor is used (with MuxMan as authoring engine these menus are not created at all), because of limits in the way dvdauthor handles these menus (if these 'blank' menu screens are omitted, at least nero complains about it).
