  1. I am having a problem when ever i try to burn a iso image in DVD Decryper sometime i can burn 1-3 discs with no problem but then like last night happens and i get one disc out and everything almost after that locks up the pc. I tried to do a defragment and that did not really help. Any other ideas????

    Take the cover off and see if it helps. Then try your ram, CPU or power supply...swap 'em out if you can.

  4. the cover is already off and it is a newer HP. it is a steady 70-74 in here at all times..............

  5. Try another software and see if it works there. Is it in an enclosure? What burner are you using? What media are you using?

  7. Try Nero 6.0 or another DVD burning ROM, and see if the problem persists.

    Also check if you installed any new programs and do you disable your antivirus when burning..

    win XP home
    bultin HP 300n DVD +R Burner (not often used)

  11. I would definately try other burning ROMs, and disable all processes and applications that are not required to be running. If that fails, then reseat the IDE cables running from the DVD burner and the hard drives. You may have faulty cables. If all else fails, then replace the cables.

    Connect your burner as a slave to your secondary hard drive. Use that hard drive exclusively for your video. That may help.

  13. well I tried nero 6 but it says a reset has occured anytime i use blank -r media. I am very confused as to what i should do. I am wondering where a good place to do a firmware update on this lite-on 851S is?
