  1. Hi Guys,
    My previous Post didnt yield any results...I M helpless As I need immediate help...well I have a HP Cd Writer "9140i"...which unfortunately doesnt support Over Burning Feature ....SO I cannot use Nero BURN on it...

    ......PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE NERO 5.5 (LATEST).BUT I M NOT ABLE TO BURN VCD'S NOR SVCD's By IT...When VCD/SVCD Burning Menu is opened ,after the Selection of the required DAT files ..the ICON OF WRITE CD (8TH FROM THE LEFT IS "NOT" HIGHLIGHTED).NOR IN FILE MENU.."BURN" -HIGHLIGHTED EVEN THOUGH THE BELOW TIME STATUS TASK BAR SHOWS THE TIME DAT FILE SELECTED -80 mins .but I m unable to BURN the VCD...I have also reffered the NERO 5.5 user guide..but all has gone in vain..

    ...My question is..that I m in Search of a SUBSTITUTE Software for My HP 9140i CD writer which would possess the Following qualities as that of NERO 5.5--

    --Help Me to OverBurn my VCD's upto 80 mins.
    --Can Burn VCD's which would be compatible for Playing On any VCD players(& not only PC's).

    .....Friends till Now..I being a FOOL was burning all my VCD's as data CD (with the "HP -MYCD" software provided By HP...)I have tried out My hands on almost Every Thing(nero etc) and have Not Succeeded yet.....Please Suggest a Solution ...please rember My CD Writer is HP 9140i-(8x-4x-32x)......
    ...any Suggestions on HOW TO USE NERO 5.5 are Most Welcome..

  2. I don't know why your Nero isn't working, but as substitute you could try TSCV, VCDEasy, which are both freeware with a free CD writing program, and are very easy to use.

    As for your Nero, does it recognise your Burner ? also, you can not OverBurn with a CDRW drive that doesn't support it!

    Thanks for the Reply..But as I have SaidNero Doesnt Work on my CD-Writer as It shows Error "your Writer doent support overburning "...

    VCD easy is goodbut Burns Bin/Cue file...also Will this Support OverburnignUPto 80 mins and also Will I be Able to play My VCD on any Conventional Vcd Players.....

  4. What's wrong with bin/cue files? It all works the same after you burn the disc, and it's totally tranparent when going through the VCDeasy gui. I love it.

    well buy 80 minute discs, 80 minute discs don't require overburn. As far as nero, turn off the overburn feature. If nero recognizes your drive which is should, then just turn off the overburn option and it should allow you to burn. Also if nero isn't showing the burn icon accessible, make sure to check under recorder and then choose recorder and make sure your burner is selected. Also you might want to uninstall "HP -MYCD" and "nero" then reinstall just nero and don't bother with HP's Junk.
