I have purchased a dvd recorder Toshiba rd-xs32. I am trying to figure out how to get rid of commericals in the vhs tape. I recorded the tape to the HDD and now want to edit it and then save a copy to dvd-r. Thanks in advance if anyone can help. Lenny

the way i'm doing it right now is to use ulead moviefactory to copy the contents of the dvd-rw (vr) to mpeg files & then using the womble mpeg2-vcr to copy out the segments i want to keep in the mpeg... then use TDA to author the dvd.. the video is already in dvd spec, so no actual encoding has to be done.

I'm pretty sure that the manual for your recorder will have all the details for editing the footage on the HDD then burning. Kinda obvious, but that's where I'd start.

You could leave the commercials but add a chapter stop at the end of the commercials right when the program starts again.
That way when you are watching it you can hit chapter forward on the remote when the commercials begin and just "skip" over them.
