You couln't give those away to me. My burner doesn't like 'em. I've had nothing but bad luck with Memorex +R's packaged on spindles and
DVD Cases. The only ones I've had luck with came with Jewel Cases.
    I'm using a Lite-On LDW-451S

    I'm on a roll with Memorex -R's

  4. before you said something bad, you need to do some research on that,

memorex +r so far has 2 different media/manuf, CMC and Ricoh.

ricoh = good, amazon has 100 for 99.99 injet printable, sometimes onsale for lower.

cmc = crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, just don't buy them and stop complain.

if you do some reasearch in here, they will tell you how to pick ricoh memorex from the crappy cmc memorex.

    good luck and have fun.
    TQ

I purchsed these Memorex the last time they were on sale for $49.99 for a spindle of 50. They are Ricoh and work great in my Sony DRU-500A burner, and read great in all my PC's.

My friend just purchased a spindle this time. They are CMC...

Per DVDInfo Pro, the CMC's show 2.4x max burn speed??? even though they are labeled as 4x discs. He hasn't burned any yet, so we shall see. He has a Sony DRU-530 drive.

I did notice the spindle is different!! And what I saw on the shelf there were 3 different spindles being used... hmm... I wonder if this can be used to help tell which are CMC and which are Ricoh??

well, about the black bottom spindles---the ones which have the sharp lip on the top of the clear spindle cover, with the black spindle are most definetly CMC crap. i haven't seen any other black spindle that differs but i heard they exist???? stick with the grey.

  11. I have been using CMC discs for months and each has resulted in a flawless burn that has worked on every machine it was play on.

EDIT: Oh yeah, they also burn fine at 4x and my DVDInfo shows them as 4x.

Ok, so he has burned a few... Um, Burns are reported as OK, but the discs are nott 100% readable. i.e. he gave me a disc that the "burn completed successfully." It would start to play but less than 1/2 way through, the video got messed up, then the players just FROZE. This was the case in my Pioneer DV440 DVD player, as well as in my laptop, two of my desktops. When trying to copy the data off the disc onto my hard drive, I got CRC errors.

He is starting to see this on more discs.

Just got back from the local Compusa...

They had 50 packs of the Memorex 4x +Rs on the shelf BUT the spindle does NOT look like the ones currently on the shelf at Best Buy that turned out to be CMC.

It looks like the one I got a few months ago that were RICOHJPNR01 (black bottom, "rounded" edge on top) so I got one spindle.

Per DVDInfo Pro, they are RICOHJPNR01!!

  15. I can also speak for CMC, I have been burning them for awhile, the only problems I've had was do to my error...LG4040b and LiteOn 812

    And People.. one note
If a company put out nothing but Crap Media, they wouldn't be in business. So they are doing something right somewhere.
