  1. Hello,

I have a DVD which has been taken from a laser disc. The movie is fantastic quality and the aspect ratio is around 2.35:1.

However, there are subtitles in the bottom black area of the picture and these are actually encoded in the video. Is there any way of blanking out this subtitled area so I can create the perfect copy. The DVD is unprotected. I have checked the forum but nothing is quite close enough. I have read about the logo removal but this is in the black band at the bottom so the area is constant.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Colin.

If you want to create a copy, and want to re-encode:

1 rip the DVD to your harddrive.
2 Use DVD2AVi to remove the black borders (resize)
3 Use TMPGEnc with the DVD template. New black borders will be added.
