  1. I have converted avi movie files to svcd and burnt them onto a dvd. But when i play them on my standalone dvd player it allways stops 3/4 through and wont play the end of the film, but if i play it on my power dvd or windows media on my computer it plays all the way through??? So the whole film is there but why will it not play all of it on my standalone?

SVCD resolutions isn't properly DVD compatible, so that could be the problem. Otherwise, have you tried some different/better disks?
