  1. I am trying to convert an avi file at 23 f/p/s to DVD NTSC. I was told the only setting I need to change was the frame rate to 29.97. I did this and although it showed 199% complete, I had the following error message:

    INVALID POINTER OPERATION

I tried playing the file back anyway and found the picture to be perfect but there was no sound.

Any help is appreciated to point me in the direction of a successful conversion from 23 fps.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

  2. 1. Try to increase your DirectShow Multimedia Reader plugin priority

    2. Use VirtualDub to extract the audio to .wav and then use that for Audio Source in TMPGEnc

    3. Do the same as above except after you extract the audio, select Audio>WAV Audio from the menu & frameserve to TMPGEnc

  4. convert the file to 23.97 with 3:2 pulldown.

load the avi into gspot and see what type of audio it uses.

  8. lol, if you click on the link, it even warns you not to install all codecs included in the pack.

    Tool:
    K-Lite Codec Pack

This codec pack contains everything you need to be able to playback the most popular audio and video formats(DivX, XviD, AC3, WMV, WMA, MP3, MPEG2). Warning! If you install all codecs and filters you may get video playback problem. Only install the ones you need.

If you really want to have fun then install a bunch of codecs that conflict with each other, then try to figure out which ones to delete, then try to remove them, then try to get your system to stop crashing, then try re-installing windows.

Install only codecs that you need, test your files with Gspot or Avicodec.
