I have had reasonable success using TMPGEnc to encode my videos, however, they all seem to at times during the movie, become choppy and difficult to watch. I have not found a way using TMPGEnc to correct this problem.
So I began trying mainconcept's mpeg encoder, and thus far I have been very pleased. The quality is great and the time to encode is much quicker than with TMPGEnc. The problem I am having is two fold, when I attempt to encode a video with 23.97 fps to dvd format using mainconcept, it converts it to 29.98 fps, which is fine, and the video looks good, but I can't seem to get the audio to sync up. Even using BeSweet I've had some difficulty trying to convert the audio to 29 fps.
In addition to this more significant problem, I have also become slightly frustrated with the fact that the program encodes movies to full screen, even though the input video is widescreen. I'm sure there is a simple setting somewhere, I just haven't been able to find it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
~Mak
