I can't use Roxio, because as I read in another post it does not burn VCDs correctly.

I do have the option in Nero of burning to a disc image file. I'm not sure what I can do with this. Can I burn this straight to a CDR somehow using Roxio?

    thank you for any comments

Sure, Roxio (EZCD) can burn VCD's ok. It's just SVCD's that are the problem.

In Nero, just use the VCD option to drop, drag, and burn.

Roxio does not work. It does not work for me at least. And it does not work for a few other people. I read in another post something about that it doesn't do the PCM (??) correctly. In any case, it finished burning 2 of my VCDs. I tried to play them in my Toshiba SD1300 and nothing. I went to the store and tried to play them in 3 other models... nothing. So I don't think Roxio works right somehow.

The reason that I posted was that NERO does NOT recognize my CDR. So I can drag and drop, but I can't burn. Because it can't find my NEC burner. If I pull down the menu "CD-Recorder" to "Choose Recorder", the only thing that is in the list is "Image Recorder".

    So! Can anyone help?

    thanks

  4. VCD Easy uses CDRDAO to burn. You should be able to get it to work with one of the generic drivers. First, d/load VCDEasy 1.0.5 as the driver table as been updated (http://ww.doom9.org)

    1) Run VCDEasy, click on settings | CDRDAO
    2) Under force driver choose either generic-mmc or generic-mmc-raw, and do a simulation burn to see what works best for you.

Looking at the cdrdao.drivers file no NEC drives are listed, but the generic-mmc driver should work for any drive.
