Nero 6 VCD playback help needed

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I recently bought Nero 6 and I tried to make a VCD. I was able to make the VCD with Nero 6 and it will play back fine on my computers DVD program but I'm having trouble getting it to play on my DVD for my TV. My DVD player will play VCDs because I have played them with no trouble before and when I have used an old Easy CD program to make VCDs they played fine on my DVD player. When I put the disc in my DVD player the main picture of my VCD comes up showing the first frame of the VCD I made and one of the templates I used from Nero 6. When I press play on my DVD player nothing happens. I can't seem to get the VCD to start playing for some reason. Thanks for reading this and hopefully someone will have the answer to this.

Try this. When the menu screen comes up, press the 1 key on your remote, then press PLAY. I have a Sony 725P and this what I need to do.

I tried that and is does not work. Is there anything else I should try?

When you create your VCD make sure you uncheck the 'enable VCD menu' box if you want your vcd to play straight away.
