  1. First of all hello everyone.
I tried to search google and the forums to figure this out on my own but to no avail.

I have a movie on 2 mpgs. The first one has an NTSC trailer from a DVD at the beginning(btw this movie is NOT a DVDrip)that has been put on there before the actual PAL movie. I want to use tempgenc to reencode to NTSC but this stupid trailer is getting in the way. It starts just fine, but when it hits that pal movie's beginning, It crashes tempgenc and every single player I have put it on. I tried WMP, GDivx, and tempgenc's own player all crash at this part.

My question is how can i get rid of this trailer?every time I try to cut it out with tempgenc it crashes (error in quartz.dll-same error in players)Is there a workaround to cutting this cancer off my Pal mpg? My aim is to reencode to NTSC for use on my DVD player.

if you need my comp specs here they are:
    HP pavilion 800 Mhz Celeron
    256 MB RAM
    Geforce2mx 32MB
    Windows ME
    Using tmpmpgenc 2.0

  2. The mpg you refer to ? is it mpeg2 ? If so, you can try the dvd2avi route.

  3. If your using DVD2AVI load your vobs, then move to where the trailer ends and press [ (open up the stats and look at the audio timecode, it should go back to 0 at the start of the movie). then move to the end and press ] (the buttons, not the keys). When you save the project the trailer won't be included.

  4. Thanks everyone for your replies.

Suriyan: They are mpeg 1, so I can't use DVD2AVI. Thank you though.

Shabubu: The file is already an mpeg-1 I'm not working with vobs. This trailer at the beginning crashes every player, I figured out that the trailer is an NTSC DVD rip joined to the movie I want which is a PAL mpg file. I want to cut out this trailer to avoid tmpgenc crashing so I can reencode the file to NTSC to burn and play in my DVD player. Alas, Tmpgenc crashes right as the trailer ends and the moives begins,as does all the players I have tried. It crashes Quartz.dll in every player I try it in.

Thanks again everyone. Hope I gave more info that could give you an idea of what I could do.

  6. The problem is I can't cut it to where the PAL file starts before Tmpgenc crashes. It always crashes at that point.
