I understand that if you convert the sound on VCD from 44htz to 48htz so it can be burned on to DVD+R and played on a DVD Player. If you saved this converted vcd file on your hard drive and later burned it on to a blank cdr, would it still work with a standalone DVD player. Or do all VCDss have to have audio at 44htz?

Yes. But a vcd(or it would be called xvcd) with 48 khz would probably work on most standalone dvd players.Originally Posted by icebergx

I tried 48000 hz audio as a vcd for a test. It didn't work. I would not suggest risking it. If you are going to want to have the file ready for both formats, i reocmmend you keep both copies arcived on a DVDR as a dvd-iso mode, so you can burn the format that you will need,
